CV<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Appointed in\u00a0May 2025,\u00a0Niki Alexandrou\u00a0brings over\u00a020 years of experience\u00a0as a finance counsel to her role as an Independent Non-Executive Board Member at the\u00a0National Bank of Greece (Cyprus).<\/p>\n

As\u00a0Counsel at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, a leading global legal practice, Ms Alexandrou advised financial institutions, supranationals, corporates, public bodies and funds across a broad range of sectors. Her areas of focus included\u00a0project finance\u00a0(infrastructure and energy),\u00a0shipping finance, real estate finance and\u00a0debt restructurings. She has led several high-impact and award-winning transactions, including the\u00a0largest sustainability-linked financing in the shipping industry ($2.8 billion) and played a key role in complex cross-border negotiations. She also led local firm initiatives in\u00a0AI legal innovation, Corporate Social Responsibility\u00a0and\u00a0Sustainability.<\/p>\n

Earlier in her career, she worked at\u00a0A&O Shearman\u00a0in London and New York, advising on\u00a0structured finance and derivatives\u00a0for major investment banks and portfolio managers in cash, synthetic & hybrid structured finance transactions across all asset classes (CDOs, CLOs, CPPIs, derivatives). She also worked at the\u00a0European Commission\u2019s DG Competition (Brussels)\u00a0as a case handler on cartel investigations.<\/p>\n

Ms Alexandrou is also known for her\u00a0leadership in social impact and DEI advocacy. She serves on the\u00a0Advisory Board of Lean In, a global nonprofit supporting women in the workplace, and co-leads\u00a0Lean In Network Greece (Athens). She is also\u00a0Vice President and founding member of the Association of Cypriot Professionals in Greece (ACPG).<\/p>\n

She is dually qualified as a\u00a0Dikigoros (Piraeus Bar)\u00a0and a\u00a0Solicitor (Law Society of England and Wales) and was\u00a0called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2002. She holds a postgraduate certificate on \u201cSustainable Leadership\u201d from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Laws (LLM) from University College London and a law degree (LLB) from University of Bristol.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
