Safe@Web

The Safe@Web service protects your cards against unauthorized use when shopping online at Safe@Web participating merchants. Your online purchases are secured with the use of One Time Password (OTP). The service is free of charge to National Bank of Greece (Cyprus) Ltd cardholders.

Ethnocash Card

GENERAL FEATURES

ΕTHΝΟCASH PLUS, NBG’s debit card, makes your everyday purchases and banking transactions easy, fast and safe. So you can pay in cash…without cash!

With a chip & PIN technology embedded, it provides enhanced safety and ease of use for your purchases.

When using your card at physical points of sale, the identification of the card’s sensitive information  is carried out by typing your PIN into the EFT/POS instead of signing the receipts printed by the terminals.

GENERAL FEATURES

A personal debit card issued free of charge for:

  • purchases of goods and services at merchants displaying the Maestro logo, in Cyprus and abroad, debiting the card-linked account with up to the equivalent of the daily transaction limit of the card
  • cash withdrawals with up to the equivalent of the daily transaction limit of the card, on a round-the-clock basis, via NBG’s and other banks’ ATM network in Cyprus and abroad
  • additional transactions, such as balance enquiries and change of PIN via the NBG ATM network in Cyprus and abroad
  • online purchases at verified e-shops participating in the Safe@Web transaction security service

KEEPING YOUR CARD SAFE

NBG provides maximum transaction security for your ETHNOCASH PLUS card. However, the security of your transactions is also your own responsibility. Therefore, for your own security you should bear in mind that:

Your PIN is equivalent to your signature and:

  • is unique and strictly personal
  • should not be disclosed to anyone else, even the staff of the Bank
  • should not be kept with the card
  • that it is safer to change it regularly
  • when you enter the pin, cover the keypad with your free hand
  • you should not accept any help from other people when entering your PIN
  • make sure that the next customer is standing at a safe distance from you

CARD LOSS OR THEFT

MasterCard is an internationally accepted credit card that delivers all-round top-class service, flexibility and security in all your transactions.

With a chip & PIN technology embedded, it provides enhanced safety and ease of use for your purchases.

When using your card at physical points of sale, the identification of the card’s sensitive information is carried out by typing your PIN into the EFT/POS instead of signing the receipts printed by the terminals.

A personal credit card for:

  1. Purchases of goods and services at all businesses displaying the MasterCard logo in Cyprus and overseas
  2. Cash advances 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at ATMs displaying the MasterCard logo in Cyprus and abroad
  3. e-Commerce protection at verified e-shops participating in the Safe@Web transaction security service

NOTIFICATIONS FOR YOUR DUES

Each month we send to the address you’ve given us a copy of your card activity, stating in detail the amount and date of each transaction during the month (up to the closing date of the statement), the total charges, the amount of the minimum instalment and the payment date.

You can also access the said information via our Internet Banking service, provided you’re a registered user.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

You can pay your credit card bill in a number of ways:

  • by instructing us to automatically debit your NBG deposit account (to do this you should fill in the relevant authorization form at any of our Branches)
  • in cash at the teller’s desk in any of NBG’s Branches
  • via our Internet Banking service

CHANGE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Please inform us immediately of any change in your personal particulars (home address, contact information etc.) simply by visiting an NBG Branch.
